Emmanuelle Vaugier Talks About Her Evil Character…
Posted on: August 01, 2011 | Filed under: Interviews, Lost Girl | Comments Off
After appearing in a wide range of TV shows like CSI: NY, Covert Affairs, Human Target and Smallville as well as genre movies like Saw II and Saw IV, Lost Girl‘s Emmanuelle Vaugier knows how to sell a character to the viewing audience and make them come alive.
During an exclusive interview with NiceGirlsTV at Comic Con last month, Emmanuelle described her recurring role on the Canadian hit series Lost Girl, where she plays The Morrigan, as someone who is “fun, (has) a dark sense of humor (and is) vain. She just loves everything about torturing people and making everyone miserable and having fun with that.” She further explained that, “I think the part that I love most is that (this character) allows me to be a little over the top, a little crazy. It’s completely acceptable because we are in a completely fantastical world where vampires, goblins and fairies exis). There are no rules; you can kind of do whatever you want. That gives me an incredible freedom and that is really very fun.”
Emmanuelle revealed more about The Morrigan, explaining that, “She is the leader of the dark world essentially. She runs a talent agency where she represents young musicians and artists. (She) feeds off their talent and energy and most of the time (she) leaves them dead in (her) wake, which is the difference between the light and the dark world – the light doesn’t kill them off.”
Emmanuelle also shared that she believes her character will appear in more episodes throughout season 2 (which begins on September 4 on the Canadian channel Showcase). The Morrigan’s interaction will still primarily be with Bo (Anna Silk), but she does hope that there will be some exploration into the backstory of her character, cheekily stating, “As far as I know, I’ll be back and weaving my evil little power.”

Syfy’s ‘Lost Girl’ interviews
Posted on: August 01, 2011 | Filed under: Interviews, Lost Girl | Comments Off
M&C: What character do you play on ‘Lost Girl?’
EMMANUELLE VAUGIER: I play the leader of the Dark Fae, and my character’s name is The Morrigan. The difference between the two worlds is the Dark Fae feeds off human energy but doesn’t let them live–most of the time, they kill their victims. The Light Fae lets them live and have a much more positive attitude about humans being around and their purpose.
I’m the bad girl, the leader of the Dark World. I run a record label and I feed off of my clients’ talent and their energy as opposed to Bo, who feeds off of sexual energy.
M&C: Could there be any basis for your character in real life?
Emmanuelle: Could! (Laughs)
M&C: What did you think of the show when you first heard about it?
Emmanuelle: It was great! I was so excited because I think it’s the perfect show for sci-fi. It’s such a fun show. And especially now when all these shows are doing so well and there’s such a huge interest in vampires, goblins, fairies and all that… it’s the perfect time for it!

VegasAllNight Interview with Emmanuelle

Thanks to Dennis of VegasAllNight for sharing the interview with us.
Emmanuelle Vaugier is a Canadian film actress who’s appeared in a slew of high-profile shows and films, and it’s safe to say her beauty matches her talent. You might recognize her as Detective Jessica Angell from CSI: NY, and she’s also played Charlie Sheen’s ex-Fiancé Mia on Two and a Half Men. If that weren’t enough, she found time to grace the covers of MAXIM, Femme Fatal, Vancouver View, and a slew of other magazines as well. Luckily for us, she was in Las Vegas this past weekend hosting her very own birthday bash at Chateau! Here’s our conversation…
You’re kicking off your birthday at Chateau this Friday night! Is this the first time you’ve had a birthday bash in Las Vegas? What are you looking forward to the most?
EV: Yes, first time…..I’m looking forward to it! Some of my closest friends are flying into celebrate with me, a few that I haven’t seen in quite some time.
You’re from Vancouver originally, and we have to ask, what was your first impression of Las Vegas?
EV: “Ok, pace yourself!”
Are there memories from your first time here that stand out?
EV: I can’t remember…..don’t think I paced myself that time! Live and learn!
You’ve done quite a bit of high-profile TV work and films, do you prefer one medium over the other? Or are you one of those people who throws yourself into the project regardless of the medium?
EV: If I like a role, it really doesn’t matter what the medium is……I just enjoy the work.
