Indie shocker no longer in a “Bind”

Dan Walton, a producer on Ryan Nicholson’s GUTTERBALLS and HANGER, has been putting together his own independent horror movie BIND for a few years now. Now he tells Fango that the project is ready to go with a cast including a number of genre veterans.

BIND is an ’80s slasher homage about a group of friends terrorized by an evil presence in the woods during a winter weekend outing, and is set to star Edward Furlong, Emmanuelle Vaugier from SAW II, DOLAN’S CADILLAC and many others, FINAL DESTINATION 3’s Ryan Merriman and Chelan Simmons, Daniel Cudmore, LAID TO REST’s Kevin Gage, 2001 MANIACS Milk Maiden Christa Campbell, original HALLOWEEN heroine P.J. Soles and Jessica Von. “There has been much clamoring in the horror community and fandom in general about delays and dates being pushed back,” Walton (pictured behind the scenes of his BIND teaser trailer) tells Fango. “Not to worry: Everything is moving forward at a steady pace after necessary changes were made with several facets of the overall production.

“My crew and I are striving to bring the very best to the fans and not just put out a rushed movie that looks like just that,” he continues. “There’s too much of that out there already, and we don’t want this to be the norm, but the exception. If it takes a little longer, we want BIND to be something we can all be proud of and not just another example of what belongs in the pile, but rises above that. The finished product, rest assured, is going to be well worth the wait. Stay tuned.”

We’ll keep you updated as BIND heads toward its shoot this winter in Vancouver.
